A plush blanket is only cozy while it stays soft. Washing it the wrong way can leave it flat, pilled or stiff. The good news is that velveteen plush is forgiving if you follow a few simple rules. Here is how to wash and care for it, using the instructions from our own plush blanket.

What it is made of
The Better Days Are Coming plush blanket is velveteen plush, a medium heavy-weight 100% polyester (with an 83% polyester and 17% spandex option) with an extra-soft hand. It has a one-sided high-detail print and double-needle topstitching on all seams. The polyester is fast-drying and keeps its shape.

Keep it soft
| Do | Do not |
|---|---|
| Wash it cold | Use hot water |
| Dry it on low heat | Use high heat, which can damage polyester |
| Brush it gently when dry to lift the nap | Iron or press it |
| Spot clean small spills quickly | Bleach it or dry-clean it |
Stain tips
Blot a fresh spill with a clean cloth and cold water instead of rubbing. For a stubborn mark, dab a little mild detergent on the spot, then rinse and wash as above. Test a hidden corner first.
