How to Choose a Hoodie Size and Care for Fleece
A hoodie that fits well becomes a daily uniform. One that does not stays in the closet. Because hoodies layer over other clothes and have thick fabric, sizing works a little differently from a t-shirt. Here is how to choose a hoodie size, with details from our own fleece hoodie.
Know the fit
Our You Can Do Hard Things fleece hoodie ($48.99) has a regular fit. It is made of 3-end fleece that is 80% combed ring-spun cotton and 20% recycled polyester (varying by color), at 8.25 oz per square yard (280 g/m2). It has an adjustable drawstring hood, a kangaroo pocket and double-needle topstitching, and comes in sizes XS to 3XL.
Measure a hoodie you already own
- Lay it flat and smooth it out.
- Measure the chest width from armpit to armpit and the length from the shoulder to the hem.
- Compare those numbers with the size chart on the product page.

Think about layering

Caring for a fleece hoodie
- Machine wash cold (max 30C or 90F).
- Do not bleach.
- Tumble dry on low heat.
- Iron on low heat if needed, never directly on the embroidery.
- Do not dry-clean.
Prevent shrinking and pilling
Cold water and low heat are the best defense, as in do cotton t-shirts shrink?. Washing it inside out and away from rough items reduces surface wear.
