Each step below gives you an if/then rule and real items from our shop, with prices as listed at the time of writing. Want the shortcut? The gift finder does the same thing with filters.

Question 1: What is the budget?

- Mom: go for something she will use daily. See gifts for mom under $50.

Question 3: When do you need it?
Everything here is made to order. Production takes 3 to 5 business days, then shipping takes 3 to 6 business days within the United States and 6 to 12 internationally. Use the delivery date estimator to count back from the date you need it, or read the last day to order for Christmas if it is a holiday gift.

Question 4: Do you know their size?
- Yes: a tee or hoodie is fine. Check the size finder first.
- No: skip apparel. Our items are made to order, so we cannot accept returns or exchanges for wrong size or change of mind. Mugs, candles, journals, puzzles and blankets need no size.
Question 5: What is their everyday like?
- Homebody: a soy candle ($22.58) with a cotton wick and a 50 to 60 hour burn time. Learn how to make a candle last longer.
- Reader: an aluminum bookmark ($12.99). More in gifts for bookworms.
- Planner: the journal above, or see gifts for journal lovers and planners.
- Coffee or tea drinker: a mug or tumbler. See gifts for coffee and tea lovers.
- Game night regular: the poker playing cards, 52 cards plus 2 jokers on 300 gsm cardstock.

Question 6: Where should it go?
Send it straight to them. Enter their address as the shipping address at checkout, and nothing needs to pass through your hands. If the recipient lives abroad, allow the longer international times and note that customs duties or taxes, if any, are the customer’s responsibility. The matte poster ships only within the United States.
