One of the first questions about any made-to-order shop is a simple one: how long does print on demand shipping take? Here is what to expect from Parallel World, based on our Shipping Policy, plus how to plan for gifts and avoid delays.

The short answer
Your order runs on two clocks. First the shirt is printed, which usually takes 3 to 5 business days. Then it ships, which typically takes 3 to 6 business days within the United States and 6 to 12 business days internationally. Put together, that is roughly 6 to 11 business days to a US address and 9 to 17 business days to most other countries. These are typical ranges, not guarantees: carriers and transit times depend on your destination and are chosen automatically for the best balance of speed and cost.
Print on demand shipping time at a glance
| Stage | Typical time | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Production | 3 to 5 business days | Framed prints or accessories may take a little longer than apparel |
| Delivery within the US | 3 to 6 business days | Starts once the order leaves production |
| International delivery | 6 to 12 business days | Depends on the destination country |
| Total to a US address | About 6 to 11 business days | Production plus delivery |
| Total internationally | About 9 to 17 business days | Production plus delivery |
Why made to order takes a few extra days
Nothing in our shop is pulled from a warehouse shelf. Each piece is printed specifically for you after you order, which is why there is a production step before shipping. In return there is no overproduction and no unsold stock, a trade-off we explain in what made to order means for sustainable fashion. If you want to know how the printing itself works, read what print on demand actually means and our comparison of print on demand vs screen printing.
Tracking your order
As soon as your order ships you will receive a confirmation email with a tracking link. If it does not show up, check your spam folder first, then contact us and we will help.
Customs, duties and taxes
For orders shipped outside the product’s country of production, your local customs office may apply import duties or taxes. These charges, if any, are the customer’s responsibility and are not included in our prices or shipping fees. Delays caused by customs or local delivery services are outside our control, so it helps to allow extra time for international orders.

If your package is late
If tracking shows no movement for an extended period, or the package has not arrived within the expected window, contact us and we will help track it down or arrange a resolution. Our full terms are on the Shipping Policy page.
How to avoid delays and surprises
- Double-check your address. Orders sent to an incorrect address provided at checkout are not covered for replacement or refund.
- Check your size before you pay. Because each shirt is made for you, we cannot accept returns for a wrong size or a change of mind. Use the Size Guide and our post on how to choose t-shirt size.
- Order gifts early. As a rule of thumb, allow at least two to three weeks for a US address and three to four weeks for international orders.
- Watch your inbox. The tracking email is the quickest way to see where your order is.
What if something arrives damaged?
If an item arrives damaged, defective or misprinted, we will replace it or refund you at no extra cost. Contact us within 30 days of delivery with your order number and a photo of the problem. The details are in our Returns policy.
Frequently asked questions
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Delivery times depend on the destination.
Will I get a tracking number?
Yes. A shipping confirmation email with a tracking link is sent as soon as your order ships.
Do I have to pay customs fees?
Possibly, for orders shipped outside the product’s country of production. Any import duties or taxes are the customer’s responsibility.
Why is there a production step at all?
Because the shirt does not exist until you order it. That is the core of print on demand, and it is why we can offer a wide range of designs without holding stock.
